When the weight of the world comes fully to bear,
And the trials are many ahead.
I shall not give in to the voices and words,
The cruelest ones inside my head.
Let us not speak of the demons,
With their forked tongues and razor claws,
Let us speak of the reasons,
The reasons to stand firm, and forge on.
Strength and will can be fleeting,
In times as trying as these,
But I shall use my mind and soul,
My spirit and heart will be appeased.
This will not be the last time I walk this road.
Nor the last time I take a chance.
I’ll hold my head high and proudly tread,
Upon the grounds of circumstance.
